About Flack Engravers

Thomas Flack Engravers is a family-run business with over 80 years experience in the craft of Hand Engraving.

Under the tutelage of his uncle, the renowned jeweller and Master Hand Engraver Michael Prenelle, Thomas began his apprenticeship in 1979.

In 1985 Thomas opened his first workshop in Jersey C.I. Where he undertook hand engraving commissions for the Island jewellers. He was commissioned to engrave a silver mace to be presented to HM Queen Elizabeth II by the States of Jersey.

Within 4 years Thomas had opened a hand engraving workshop and glass engraving studio in the Isle of Man where he undertook the Island’s hand engraving needs and also taught on the subject of glass engraving. Engraving Workshop - Isle of Man

In 1992 Thomas returned to the UK and after spending brief spells in Aberdeen and York, decided to return to his roots in the North East of England to start a new hand engraving workshop.

During this time Thomas was also commissioned to engrave works for 10 Downing Streetand The WhiteHouse in Washington DC.

Over the years Thomas has built quite a list of prestigious clients and undertaken a variety of hand engraving commissions. Although now concentrating more on family crest and seal engraving, Thomas still undertakes work from jewellers and goldsmiths. Engraving Work Bench
