Family Crest Surface Engraving

A Family Crest or Coat of Arms can be Seal Engraved (in negative) or Surface Engraved (in positive) onto any metal. At Thomas Flack Engravers we specialise in both.

Though not as deep as a seal engraving a surface engraved Crest or Coat of Arms is just as Detailed and Elegant. We cut deeply into the metal with gravers, using various cross hatch engraving techniques to acheive shading to bring the engraving to life.

Because the thickness of the item of jewellery is not as important as that of an item to be seal engraved, the items that can be surfaced engraved with a Family Crest or Coat of Arms are more far ranging. Heraldic engraving onto items such as Rings, Cufflinks, Pendants, Money Clips, Lockets, Salvers and Plaques are all possible and what we specialise in.

A Family Crest or Coat of Arms surface engraved onto an item of Jewellery makes a beautiful family heirloom and the engraving is deep enough to last for hundreds of years. If you are unsure what your family crest is, please contact us where we will research your family Crest, this service we provide free of charge.
